Hello Lovely! One of my new favorite places to visit is the Beehive State. Oh you haven’t heard that one before? It’s Utah of course! With a nice combo of desert and fabulous, snowy, mountainous terrain as well. It is truly one of the most gorgeous places I’ve ever seen in my life. Homesick for Switzerland? Utah is you place in the states.
I may have come here for work but I’m coming back for the killer views.
First a quick shout out for Salt Lake City. It’s truly unique with both a large conservative LDS population contrasted by a super liberal movement. What has resulted is a growing, eclectic city.
My two favorite Salt Lake Eats:
These are the places I can’t help myself but to eat at multiple times on my trips to Salt Lake City. I’m sure others are fine but these keep me returning trip, after trip, after trip…
1. Eva’s Bakery
Yes this place is extremely cute and totally instagramable. The food here completely out shines the facade, it is that good. There is a burrata salad that even this non salad eater scraped to last bite clean.
2. Copper Onion
Ricotta, dumplings, thyme, lemon, parmesan, need I say more?
Now you must drive about 45 minutes out from Salt Lake City. Your now at my second, and probably truly first, love of Utah, Park City.
I mean you’re seeing this right? This is the Switzerland of America. It is that incredibly gorgeous. I’m still not sure I didn’t dream this place up.
I have two suggestions, strong suggestions, for your Park City leg of the trip.
1. Go immediately to Handle and order the burger.
I can’t even describe to you the experience of eating this bite of meaty heaven. Meat melting like butter with every bite, crisp fresh pickles, a soft toasted bun, tomatoey homemade ketchup slathered on…. I need a few minutes..
Ok and now that that’s over, you’re going to need to walk it off. Turn the corner to the cutest downtown area you’ve ever seen in your life. It is really your duty as an American to be a patron at this shops.
Last but not least, make sure you drive the other direction into the mountains to see the Sundance Resort. I’m dying to stay here, I’m just sure it would be incredible. Running into The Sundance Kid during your stay is frequently a nice perk from what I under stand. There are two very highly rated restaurants on-site but I need to share a secret. The chocolate chip cookies sold and the Resort’s cafe are among the best I’ve ever eaten in my life. I’m serious about this, my bosses fought over one on the drive back to Sat Lake. Don’t buy just one, you can’t share half of this massive cookie, it’s that good.
Enjoy Utah and I wish I could come with you! If you’ve been, share some of your must eats in these cities, I’d love to check them out on my next trip!
