Hello Lovelies! Over this past weekend the hubby and I had the privilege of attending Texas Monthly’s BBQ Fest. The event held at Long Center in Austin, TX is a festival based around 24 of Texas’ best pitmasters showcasing their artwork. Their choice of medium consisting of smoke, beef, pork, etc.. You get the picture, its basically a BBQ lover’s heaven.
The best deal is to purchase the VIP tickets, these sell out quickly so you have to be ready to jump on them as soon as they’re released. The VIP attendees get in one hour before the general admission ticket holders, allowing them to grab tons of BBQ while experiencing short or no actual lines.
Our favorite joints at the festival were as follows, in no particular order:
3. Snow’s BBQ
It is worth noting I have tried but did not choose to wait to the line at the festival for Franklin’s but it is excellent BBQ. I’ll also tell you Pecan Lodge in the Deep Elm neighborhood of Dallas is fabulous but I didn’t get to grab a bite of theirs at the festival.
TIP! Use the map to make a plan to fully utilize the VIP hour prior to event, I almost missed half the festival. I would have missed Gourdough’s Donuts, talk abut a near miss!
I hope to see you all there next year! Happy eats ya’ll!
