Hello Lovely! We have had another crazy busy wonderful weekend. Friday night we had dinner with a bunch of friends at one of their homes. Saturday we ran a few errands around town including stopping at the cutest baby store in Rice Village called Doodles for a gift. (If you have a little one or need a nice gift this is the place to splurge.) Next I hit up Anthropologie for some new spring pieces that I can’t wait to share with you guys over the coming weeks. Last we had a great dinner at some other friends house. Sunday has been a great day full of worship and fellowship.
I was very excited to be able to pull out my favorite white blazer for the wonderful “Spring” weather we’ve been having here. It has been absolutely gorgeous this week in Houston. One of my favorite Spring trends is the 70’s trend. Imagine maxi dresses, white blazers, cross over bags, crochet, and flared jeans. With this trend I knew I needed to rock my favorite maxi with the blazer and a cross body bag. I loved this outfit and you can still get the shorter version of this dress I bought last year from the Rifle Paper Co./ Paper Crown collaboration.
I don’t normally talk about things like this on here but lately I have felt challenged to follow what God has in mind for me. As a natural-born planner I enjoy having “control” over my event, my life plans, how my day will go, etc… God has been continuously reminding me that he is in control and my plans will not always turn out the way I “planned”. With my husband finally getting done with school soon we’re both waiting on pins and needles to hear from one of the companies he has applied at. The oil industry being down has effected a lot of the companies he would be applying for engineering jobs at. It is definitely not the job market we had looked forward to him hunting in when we started this journey of going back to school. I pray he will get an excellent job and it will be where God wants him to be at.
I have found a verse that is helping to remind me I need to fight my instincts and embrace God’s plans for both of us although they may be different from our own.
Psalm 62:7-8, On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.
I hope this encourages you to let go a little as well and have a wonderful week!
