Hello Lovely! Tonight I’m mixing up a fun Southern spin on a Shirley Temple. To give a more grown up flavor I added in ginger ale instead of the sprite, and for a Southern twist I’m using pineapple juice.
The Southern part of the pineapple addition is obviously not the actual fruit but what it means down here. In case you did not know, the pineapple is a traditional symbol of “welcome”. You’ll see the fruit as a door knocker on many front doors in the South. I figure what better way to welcome somebody to my home than a pineapple mixed drink :)!
Cherry Charleston Mocktail
Makes 1 Mocktail
1/2 Cup pineapple juice
1/4 Cup ginger ale
2 Tbsp. cherry juice
Optional: 1 Maraschino cherry for garnish
Pour pineapple juice in your glass, then pour the ginger ale in the glass, and last add the cherry juice to top it off. If you’d like throw in the maraschino cherry, sit back, and enjoy!
Show your next guest a little Southern hospitality by mixing up a few of these drinks!
