Hello Lovely! Well, as you may have guessed by my lack of posts I am still not moved into my new house. With that fact in mind, all of my pretty things are in boxes. No more staging a pretty plating of food, not perfectly imperfect coffee table selfies, and no mocktails. With all of my glassware and cooking utensils packed up I feel sure you do not want to see what my mocktails would look like right now, not exactly instagram worthy.
Although all that said…we are getting much closer to closing and moving into the new house. As they say of those who don’t have a home to decorate, online shop and do an unbelievably lot of pinning on Pinterest, “those who can’t do teach”. One item at the top of my list is barstools. We didn’t have much of a bar in the last house but have an unusually large one in the new house. Without them I think the oversized bar may look even odder, plus I’ll be eager to use the extra seating for entertaining of course :). I’ll have white cabinets and backsplash with black countertops in the majority of the kitchen. The island is a soft gray with a white and gray marblesque quartz. I’m leaning towards bringing out the black countertops and the specks of black in the island countertops. Plus who doesn’t love a white, black, and gray classic color scheme? I have to say bar stools can get pricey so I’ve done a little high/low with some favorite looks…
1. Windsor Gray Barstool– Target really out did themselves on this one! It’s nearly an exact replica of one Anthropologie has had out in the past few years. Unfortunately I’m not the only one that has noticed this stylish steel of deal, and gray is the only color left in stock. A bit too much gray for my new kitchen but good news for anyone that doesn’t have to pair it with a gray island, it’s a gorgeous color!
2.Milo Bar Stool – I love Lulu and Georgia! Everything on that site is amazing, a bit pricey, but oh if I choose to splurge. These barstools are gorgeous, modern, comfortable, but still a timeless mod vibe going for them.
3. Riviera Stools– I couldn’t be more obsessed with a barstool. Such a classic french bistro look and excellent quality. After my obsession with these began I was not at all surprised to see the chair version at the new bakery at Magnolia Market. They had a lovely navy and white version siting with bistro tables on the patio. Need I say more?
4. The New Classic– I have to say I would have guessed this trend would have gone away by now or we would be tired. Turns out barstools never looked so trendy. While I’m not a fan of the many different colored takes, the silver, black, or even solid white are all quickly becoming a classic for the time. Bonus- I’ve seen some great deals on these, the cheaper brands are all creating their one take on these (Overstock, Target, Wayfair, ect…).
5. Oak bistro barstool – I still like this style but being I do have the matching chairs in my dining room, it may be a bit much for my bar. I still recommend these though, I always get complements on mine (which I got for a steal on clearance at Restoration Hardware $39.99)… I will say the same chairs I got a steal on are back to regular price now on RH’s website but this version is also not a bad buy at $99.00 so check them out.
I can’t wait to show you the ones I’m choosing once we’re in the new house. Any votes out of these from you guys or better yet suggestions!?!
