Hello Lovely! Another week has snuck past me but I can say I’m starting to form a better routine with my new schedule. I keep getting things knocked off my to-do list, spending time getting to know the area better, and even better spending time with new friends as I try to adjust to everything. James and I have been able to spend a lot more time together too since I’ve been able to get a lot of the normal household chores done by the time he gets home. Its created plenty of time for afternoon walks, a few casual dinners at new restaurants around town, and just a lot more time for just the two if us to hang out (while its still just the two of us)
Here’s a couple snaps from just one of our afternoon walks this week:
It really is a pretty gorgeous little area we live in here. As challenging as adjusting to a new city can be it isn’t hard to look around and be grateful for our surroundings.
In other news I’ve done a good amount of online shopping since I’ve been home, some nursery items and enough maternity looks to get me through the rest of this pregnancy. A good amount of my maternity shopping has been at ASOS (where I snagged the little number below), it’s definitely better quality than the Pink Blush items I’ve bought but not nearly as expensive as my Pea in a Pod favorites. It’s all machine washable and most importantly still looks like my pre-baby style. So many of the maternity clothing sites carry such frumpy items, it looks like they think because we’re pregnant all fashion sense just goes out the window. I know I talked a little about this last week but its worth saying again: As a woman, pregnant, married, single, wherever in life you may be, we all should be able to dress however makes us feel good. Wherever you’re at in life, ASOS is sure to have something to fit your style and in your budget. I knew about this site prior to being pregnant and honestly was just pleasantly surprised to see they also cater to those of us with temporarily quickly expanding bellies. Needless to say, I think everyone should check it out!
This weekend we actually got a big jump on the nursery. The dresser came in last week and so did the crib. James’s mom came over to help us with the wallpaper (it’s the stick on kind) since we spent two hours getting one strip up last weekend. As it turns out even the new not-wallpaper “wallpaper” is beyond my patience level. James and his mom got it up on the accent wall surprisingly fast. Since there was so much spare time they decided to break open the crib box and get it put together as well. Still no crib sheet, artwork, curtains…well still a lot that needs to be done but we’re definitely a lot further along than we were a week ago. Tomorrow starts my eighth month of pregnancy and the start of my 32nd week, so all things considered I’m feeling quite accomplished (even though I didn’t actually help set any of the stuff up).
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
