Hello Lovely! I hope you had an excellent weekend. Busy weekend on my end with a crazy 16 hour day for an event on Saturday and then the annual crawfish boil at church on Sunday. Long weekend but definitely a good one. In other news, I figured based on the weekend release of Beyonce's new single, a lemonade was the most appropriate drink for this #MocktailMonday :)! Enjoy! Blueberry Lemonade Serves 1 person 1/2 Cup lemonade (I used the light version from Trader Joe's) 1/4 Cup sparkling … [Read more...]
Cold Mocha Latte
Hello Lovely! Life has been a little crazy in the past couple of weeks and I have missed you all. I've missed writing. My hubby is on the job hunt as he is finishing school and I've started to get distracted by it all. Worried, to say the least, I try to pass my concerns over to God. He is the only being that I know can truly take on my worries and concerns. I know He can take care of anything and everything that comes at us. Knowing He is taking care of James with his job hunt, I am … [Read more...]
Cherry Charleston Mocktail
Hello Lovely! Tonight I'm mixing up a fun Southern spin on a Shirley Temple. To give a more grown up flavor I added in ginger ale instead of the sprite, and for a Southern twist I'm using pineapple juice. The Southern part of the pineapple addition is obviously not the actual fruit but what it means down here. In case you did not know, the pineapple is a traditional symbol of "welcome". You'll see the fruit as a door knocker on many front doors in the South. I figure what better way to … [Read more...]
Mocktail Mimosa
Hello Lovely! I find baby showers to be the ultimate cocktail occasion. A mocktail is the perfect drink to give you that festive feel and not let the new Mommy feel left out. My favorite time of day to host a shower is Saturday mornings making brunch the clear theme for the menu and this is the perfect mocktail to pair with it. Mocktail Mimosa Sparkling white grape juice Pulp free orange juice Optional: Strawberry for garnish Preferably serve in a flute glass for the full effect. … [Read more...]
Gluten Free Lemon Blueberry Bars
Hello Lovelies! With the gorgeous weather we've been having in Houston, I have been craving something with lemon. Something about key limes, lemons, and berries screams summer even if it is piled on a buttery crust. My mom and siblings are traveling in for the holiday weekend. With both of my sisters having a gluten allergy I was challenged in what type of baked goods to have ready for them when they arrive. Nothing says ,'Welcome to my home!' like fresh-baked goods though, am I … [Read more...]

Fruit & Creme Mocktails for Spring
Hello Lovely! There is nothing more festive for a holiday or even a dinner party, than a themed mocktail. I wanted to create a fun mocktail with all the prettiest spring colors for this week. When I was thinking through favor combinations I landed on a favorite childhood snack. Does anybody else remember the Schwan's man coming by your house? When I was little I remember it as the best day because my mom would always buy orange creamsicles. As a play on this memory, I went to the store … [Read more...]
Blood Orange Rosemary Mocktail
Hello Lovely! Brunch mocktails are my very favorite! Most people look forward to their bottomless mimosas but this sparkling orange drink is a fun spin on that classic. To me blood oranges have a much bolder flavor, while the citrus and rosemary combo have always been the perfect combo (particularly in Italian cooking). Blood Orange Rosemary Mocktail Makes 1 Mocktail 3/4 Cup sparkling blood orange juice 2 Tbps. rosemary syrup (recipe follows) Optional: 1 rosemary sprig for … [Read more...]
